I'm new on here, but I gotta say I'm lovin what you've done with your Z so far bub, not ricey at all and you're doing the same kind of mods that I've been wanting to do to mine. Very well done, it looks sick.

    Tweeter pods recently installed finally.

And a quick shot of my current interior.

I've been going through amps recently. I was dealing through SeriousZX2, so it got resolved. I got a Polk Audio one when I got my component speakers but it made a very annoying hiss. Sent that one back and got a new one of the same model, same hiss. Polk Audio apparently had a bad batch of amps go out or something. Anyway, I finally got a PowerBass amp the other day to replace the Polk ones and it works with no hiss.

I still have the mic to mount for hands free calling that came with my head unit, but I've been too lazy and I'm kinda tired of doing car audio stuff out in the heat after having to keep swapping amps... So I'll wait until I get home and do it in the AC of the garage.

There was something I was going to ask, but I can't think of what it was now...

I remember what I was going to ask. My tach doesn't always read correctly. Sometimes it will read approxomately half of what the real RPM is, sometimes it doesn't read anything or it's spontaneous. Usually it will work correctly. I have a Scangauge II that reads the RPM right 100% of the time. Would it be the tach motor dying? I have an extra one, but the problem is that most of the time it works right, so swapping them out won't give immediate results. Since I have custom gauge faces and needles I'd have to swap those over too, which is what would be the biggest pain.

Are you sure it's connected sercurely? My Honda accord had a similar problem. The speedo was messing up, we took the cluster out and the speedo and tech started screwing up. Replaced the speed sensor and the speedo worked but we had to take the cluster back out and secure the connections again. Once it was In secure, tech worked.

Speedo still works and everything else works on the cluster. I suppose it could be a loose connection. Pulling the cluster is something I'm going to have to wait to do when I get back home.

Moving my stuff from my apartment to the storage unit last week I broke my rear bumper cover. I was loading stuff in my trunk and put my foot up on the bumper cover to hold it and "crack". I'm not going to worry about it unless I happen to find one at pick-n-pull in the right color. Not very likely. The rest of my car looks like crap now anyway.

I finally got around to installing the hands free mic for my head unit. So my phone is connected with bluetooth to the head unit and I can make and take calls right through the head unit. I tested it out earlier and my mom said she can hear me really clear. It's going to be handy because I don't generally pick up my phone to talk if I'm driving. But now I don't have to.

I did something similar to my rear bumper. I ended up breaking on one of the mounting points in the passenger side rear wheel well trying to take off the rear spindle. Finally got a replacement. It took a while and z's are getting more scarce up here in the yards

I look at the trunk release button and I start to miss mine bad . After the crash the latch won't release. When I press it I just hear a click and that's it. It won't open.

I already have a mounting point broke on the passenger's side on my bumper. I rigged it with a washer over a year ago and it holds for the most part. I just don't have the cash to get a bumper and get it painted. One of these days I hope to get a new Fiesta and move the ZX2 to go-kart status. Then I'll take the time to probably get it repainted. That's gonna be another couple years though.

Ario, you said your struts were hard to pull up. That might be your issue. I added washers under the rubber bumpers on the trunk lid on my '98 because it was doing that. That helped it and it always opened up after that. Basically it's just gotta get popped up enough or the latch will just lock it again.

The problem is that I can't get that hook latched on
When I push the button, that hook retracts and it looks like its suppose to
Move something which makes the trunk open.

I'll have to look at mine to see how it's supposed to look.

That's one reason why I'd rather get a different car than fix one in an accident. As much as they do a good job at making it look good, it's just never the same.

Interior looks good. Nice mic install, and that knob looks terrific!
What's the red switch under the dash for?

Thanks. Interior is dirty... That was the best way I could come up with to install the mic, and it did turn out pretty good. Some guy up in Oregon rewrapped my shift knob. You may know him.

The red switch is for my oil slick when I have to get away from some villains. It's for my fog lights. I had an aftermarket kit on there and it came with the switch and wiring. When I got OEM fogs I kept the wiring and switch since I didn't have factory fog wiring. I'd really like to swap out the dash harness for one with fog wiring and get a turn signal switch with a fog switch on it. My dash harness has a couple crappy splices and things from back when I didn't know much about wiring... I'd like to redo all that anyway. But that, as well as repainting the car, won't be anytime soon.
