    Default 2.25 Custom exhaust system 98 zx2

Im gonna put in a 2.25 inch custom exhaust from the cat. The muffler is probably gonna be generic-turbo. My car is otherwise stock. How much increase will there be? Is it worth 200$ with parts and labor? Any better ideas? Do you guys think that i could sell the original exhaust to the shop?

    Feedback please. Ben

You might notice a small increase in the top end from stock. You could sell the original to a scrap yard. Worth 200 bucks, no, but that is a personal opinion. What is it worth to you is the better question.

generic turbo? Are those the mufflers that sound like if you have turbo?
Why wouldn't you just get a normal sounding muffler?

Might I suggest a Pacesetter cat-back exhaust for around the same price range? Aluminized steel, so it wont last forever, but it is mandrel bent. If you dont want to use the muffler that comes with it, you could put the muffler of your choice, and just weld hangers.

If I could, id either get the S/R Borla and attach to the stock exhaust, or go all out and spend the top dollar on a stainless steel TruBendz.

    Hope this helps you.

Pacesetter is 300$. I have about 200$. I am worried about the mandrel vs crushed pipe. Is there a big difference in power? If i get 2.5 inch piping will that still have a big gain in power over the stock?

IF you dont have alot of plans with the car, stick to the 2.25. If you're really planning to mod it, go with the 2.5.
I would wait and save $100 more for a better exhaust. I got a 2.25 with a Borla PRoXs for around $260, including labor.

There isn't much if any difference from crushed or mandrel bent of either size on a mildly modified zx2...

Are you in Chicagoland? I could maybe use a few pieces of exhaust pipe if you're scrapping the old one. I'm hacking together something Mega Ghetto (tm).
