2012 VW Passat
Over the last year my team at my company have been designing and testing the interior dash in the new VW Passat that just debuted today. It hasbt been seen by anyone until today. Let me know what you think. I think the exterior design could have been made a little more aggressive but overall it's a decent looking car.

2002 Sonic Blue Manual ZX2 17" Seven X Rims, Four infinity kappa speakers on a 600w 4 channel Orion amp, 12" MTX Sub on a 1000w Kenwood amp. Yeah it's not very aggressive. Could use the LED headlights like the Audi's have. And some better rims.

The exterior is dull. Very, very dull. And the dashboard...reminds me of the one in my truck. Which isn't really a terrible thing, but I'm guessing that isn't what VW was going for. VW had a great thing going for a while with their styling, but this is a step back.
I love the line: "The car has two new and amazing features, Valet Parking and Remote Start." Remote start, really?? You mean, just like the system my wife's '07 Chevy has? What innovation!

Hey now the dash is what i was working on! I didnt design it tho. It's a very plain car. Sad thing is we wanted the dash to be way more exotic with the styling, with different colored stiching etc, but VW wanted what they wanted. And now they arent gonna sell many of those cars because of it.
They had our team do the jetta as well and they made the same mistake of making it plain. It definitely grows on you tho

I like the way the 01 jetta 1.8 turbos look and feel... I like the sequential shifter or w/e its got on the Atx...
Test drove one for bout 25 mins after working on it. Was fun
I HATE working on them. We tore the front clip off to do a water pump, timing belt and a few pulleys. Retarded.

That's VW for you. If you want high class...get an AudiIt has a sub-par interior and a dull exterior.

But that didn't used to be them, and that wasn't that long ago. 3 years ago, you could pretty much count on a VW to have one of the best interiors in its class, and decent exterior styling too.

Yeah but i think they are putting a lot of time into Audi. I think they are trying to make VW a more of a cheaper, but nice vehicle line, and Audi their high class luxury line. I have worked with VW for a year now and they never get back with us on anything dealing with their cars. So the design suffers because of our lack of knowing what they want, but they still tell us to make this bland of a design...lame...
