Alright so nicer weather finally broke today it was about 34 degrees again today. Over the past couple days we received about a foot of snow... really sucks when your trying to get things done!

Regardless, the Headlights were unbolted and the project began!

For a 98 I have rather low miles, probably one of the lowest mileage ZX2's at 84,500. The lights were not in bad shape but not great either. I removed all bulbs, wiring..etc.. from the housings and baked them in the oven at 250 degrees for 15 min. I was then able to remove the lense from the housing and performed the clear corner mod by removing the amber lense. I will be purchasing amber 194 bulbs tomorrow to make it legal. I then used 800 gritt, 1200 gritt and 1500 gritt on the lenses and then hit them up with multiple passes of plastic-x with a cordless drill and a round applicator.

The results speak for themselves the lenses look brand new and I like how the now all chrome matches the inners! I need to do the other light tomorrow. Enjoy the pic.

Also for those reading this, I am in need of a spare 4 or 6 wire maf. If you have one PM me.

Nice headlights. I got you beat on the mileage though. I'm at 78,000 on my 2000 ZX2.

One things can be assured in my build log... You will always get nice HD pics of nothing but the goodness! Looky at what the Post Man brought me today

The ends will be removed, sanded, primed and painted Satin Black to match the engine. ZX2Guy stepped up and has a MAF From an 03 ZX2 he can send me for an awesome price, so I am hoping that will fix my issue that has me a bit concerned. Tonight I continue on with the headlights. I'll post more pictures once completed.

Thanks man. I have 8 Hours in them.

    800-1200-1500 Wet Sand
    1 Coat of Scratch Remover
    3 Coats of Plastic-X
    Rotary Pad On a Drill

I would advise 250 degrees for 12 min or 225 degrees for 15 min for heating the lenses up. I used Black RTV silicone to seal the lights back up.

That sturt bar is great. The only thing you'll have to do is push the washer fluid tank down a bit for clearance. I've been running a Corksport bar for many years now with no complaints. Very good choice sir.

I hear ya, I owned a Corksport back in 2005-2007. Like an idiot I sold it all in my big great part-out. This is just something I had to have back!

Okay Question for everyone that browses this build thread. I am looking to have my Valve Cover Powder Coated. Should I powder Coat it Gloss Red or Candy Red. I will be powder coating a 98 VC with the Black SPC. Let me know what you guys think. Candy Red is such a beautiful color, but might not match well in the bay? Gloss Red is meh. I could also have it done Satin Black with a Polished SPC? I'm up for ideas here.

Just Get My 2000 Gloss Black Powder Coated Valve Cover - FeZx2 Just Did It Like 2 Weeks Ago.

To Much Red In The Engine Is A Distraction. Take A Pic Of What The Engine Looks Like Right Now (And What Plans There Are) And It May Help With The Choice, But I'd Probably Lean More Towards Gloss Red With A Black SPC Or A Black VC Without A SPC.

How Much Was The CorkSport? I'm May Have To Get Me One...
    Nothing!
