    I spoke to a local shop that did re-did my valve cover and they will charge 25-50% more for Candy Colors.

    The reason is that you need to apply a (prep), silver base coat at minimum or for better results a Silver Chrome Base Coat, then shoot the Candy Coat while the cover is still hot. You can't just shoot Candy over bare aluminum and you can't shoot the piece cold... Just some info to pass your way.

    I actually had it done locally by a shop 4 hours away, I made it simple and did Wrinkle Black, even with wrinkle black he applied a grey primer to the valve cover to fill and hide any imperfections.

    Just giving ya some feedback on what I learned.
