I doubt the US is even getting this... It would be awesome if it did though.

For anyone wanting an update, it seems official that there will be a 2014 Fiesta ST in the US. Whether or not they'll only have the 5-door as pictured or they'll finally bring the 3-door over is still unknown.

The general speculation on Fiesta Faction is that there will be no North American 3 door. Ford keeps saying there's no market for it in the US... I would absolutely buy a 3 door over a 5 door, but if they don't make it, they don't make it.

I heard there was a new green, but that's the first I've seen the actual color. Definitely a lot better than that dull lime squeeze green. I would go with orange on a regular Fiesta, but what I read before orange is only for the ST. It went from no good colors on the 2013 model to three good colors IMO (green envy, molten orange, and sterling grey). Too bad the orange is only on the ST. If all goes well I'll probably be getting a Fiesta (not ST) around Summer 2014.

Ford certainly seems to be making some serious attempts to make the Fiesta more desirable with all these new options for the car in the way of color and engine offerings. Too bad for those (like me) who want the Euro-available 3-door if you're right and they have no intentions of ever bringing it here.
I feel like Ford has been trying to kill 2/3-door cars in the US for a while now. Focus ZX3 hasn't been around for years and the Focus coupe was something of an abomination. It's like they don't want us to want them.

If you look around, no car manufacturer in the US really offers any coupes or 3 door hatches for the sub compact class. It's not just Ford. People just want more doors and larger cars for the one time you might have to have someone in your backseat I guess... I personally rarely have front seat passengers, let alone rear seat as well. But if there's no 3 option it's not going to be a deal breaker. So long as they keep the manual transmission option I'm ok with it (although you pretty much have to special order to get one).

i find the discussion of 3 door/4-5 door modesl similar to rwd vs fwd, manual vs automatic, sort of redundant.
After driving 2door Escorts for years with manual transmissions. I know have a 2011 Fiesta ith four doors and the dual clutch transmission, I'm happy with it.
Four doors/5 make the car more useful. the transmission is a six speed manual that is shifted automatically.
You can't see the rear doors when you are in the car anyway.

Yes the ST is coming. I am waiting. It will be a 2014 model.
btw: the Focus ST is available now.

I'm not so worried about the 5 door vs 3 door, but given the option I'd go with a 3 door.

But there's absolutely no way I'd own an automatic. Doesn't matter if it's a manual style automatic, it still shifts for you electronically, it's an automatic and it's not fun to drive. I have test driven two automatic 2012 Fiestas, I wasn't impressed with the transmission personally because it's an automatic...feels like any other automatic I've driven honestly, nothing special about the dual clutch power shift to me. I haven't tested a manual because they don't keep them stocked at the lots. Not to mention most people with the PS transmissions are having problems with them. I'll take the 5 speed manual thanks very much.

The dry dual clutch is pretty nice, its a manual transmission with no driver-actuated clutch and sequential gear selects. All done by solenoid. Sounds nice to me, I get tired of clutching in stop and go traffic for hours. Only drawback I could see would not being able to drop the clutch while revving the engine, but thats death for these econo-box cars anyways.
2000 ZX2 MTX. Kemanized intake. Knock mod. Polk 5.25's 2-way up front, Pioneer 3-way 6x8 in the back. Sony xplod deck. Great car

i just got a new 5 door focus 2013. I had to get the auto because the only other 5 speed my dealer had was a titanium model that was 4k more in price. But we're good friends so he got me a great deal I couldn't have gotten elsewhere and gave me more than what the zx2 was worth for the trade in. I like the powershift trans, it's a million times better than the zx2 automatic and if my gf ever needed to drive it she couldn't with a stick.
