    Default Autozone fuel filter

Autozone has an off brand fuel filter. When I put it on my car, I saw my gas mileage plummet 6-10 mpg. Within weeks, I noticed the top was rusted. Clips were installed correctly. I switched to Fram IIRC, and I've had no problems for months. In hindsight, I believe the same thing happened to my last zx2, but I never connected the dots.

If you have an autozone fuel filter, check the top for rust.

Not really a "parts review" but thanks for the information. Various fuel filters have created the same issues you've described.

Good to know. I almost put a crap O'Reilly's off brand filter in. Stick only with motorcraft.
