Default First time at the track

I went this weekend to the track, first run was against a Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 and I ran a 16.99. Second run I was up against a Chevy Nova SS which had some problems on the launch, I managed to get a 17.28 due to bogging the car.

I still need some more practice but that was the last weekend of the season so i will have to wait until next year to run again.

The car bogged off the line.

I think these are decent times for a 6500 ft. DA.

Elevation is key 6500ft Above Sea Level. That 16.7 second run turns into a low-mid 15 second run at sea level.

Exactly! It was actually a 16.9 but I think with some more practice on launching the car I can manage to get it down to a 16.7 maybe a little bit better.

If you can get the 60ft times below 2.3 seconds your 1/4 mile elapsed time will come down alot. Work on getting the right air pressure and then try different variations of the clutch. Rule of thumb is try 25psi in the tires and go down as needed. To low of an air pressure will hurt a street car at the end of the track though so keep that in mind before you run 10 psi of air he he.

So i went to the track this weekend with a friend and had some fun. I got 5 runs in before I had to leave for work, I forgot to try lower air pressure in the tires this time around but now i know they have an air compressor so i can air my tires back up. My best run was a 16.83@83.2 which is my best E.T. and MPH so far. Here is a video I took with my brothers(soon to be mine) gopro.

even though that mustang left you standing there, was the 3rd run your best? That one seemed the most fluid of the 5

Fawk Yes! Right on man I love the Go Pro that's awesome! What were your 60ft times. I always post my 60ft, E.T and MPH.

Your car is also bogging off the line pretty good except your 4th run was really good. Bring up the launch rpm in 250rpm increments till you hit a sweet spot. I can understand wanted to go easy on your diff though. Install some Solid ES Mount inserts if you havn't already, lower that air pressure and your golden, might have a 14.99 in it yet... well corrected for sea level that is.

    My 60ft times were: 2.61, 2.64, 2.51, 2.46, and 2.54.

I was trying to launch around 2000 rpm, I think on the 4th run i got it a little higher, I read somewhere some guys were launching around 3000. I have 90 duromoter filled motor mounts. Hopefully next time I go to the dragstip I can remember to lower the air pressure to 25psi. I'm trying to get as much practice as I can before the All Out Call Out race series I plan on racing in May 19th.

are the tires in your sig the tires you used for those runs? have you tried using smaller diameter rims and tires.
