I am in the market for a new car, and this is what I have my eye on right now. Do you guys have any opinions or comments about this particular car? If so, please share them!
I don't know a whole lot about them, but I know they are comfortable. Not sure if that helps out or not. lol
Noly poelop taht gvie gdoo hdae cna uadnesrtn wtah thsi mesgeas sysa!
Yeah I have been hitting the net hard looking at the reviews, and the only common problem is the gas mileage. Insurance is going to kill me though...
hrm, i say go for the lucerne. i always thought they were a nicer car than the lacrosse and people seem to have the same pros/cons with them. aside from that, you can get that v8 that has the about the same fuel efficiency as the v6 in the lacrosse. of course, that all depends on how you drive it![]()
i say don't buy anything made by Buick lol. If your gonna buy a new car buy a foreign one i bought my first jap car '08 civic and i doubt i'll go back.
ZX2's are slow, they fall apart, and there ugly, but I sure do miss mine.
i interned at a buick dealership for six months at the end of '06 and early '07. the lacrosse is a very solid car, the 3800 V6 motor can get 25+ mpg if you drive right. very safe, very comfortable, i could go on all day (i was interning with sales so i learned alot about them).
but morningstar is right, the lucerne is a nicer and much more popular car. however, you will pay more for one of those.
First and foremost the lacrosse is similar to the lucerne in the ways that make them buick.
When you buy buick, you are not buying something for gas milage, or for "sportiness". You are buying a status symbol. A cadilac without the price tag basically.
The lacrosse is a step down from the lucerne, that much is fact. However, both have the standard things that make buick nice.
First, factor in that buick is tied for 1st with lexus for customer satisfaction. Tied, for first. So they have to be doing something right.
Also, all the glass is laminated safety glass. Much more quiet ride, and also safer in the event of a collision. Factor in that the headlights are made out of the same plastic as motorcycle helmets, and that there is sound deadening pumped into every crevace, it is nice and quiet. Also there is a plate behind the guages that doesn't resonate (as much). Factor in the magnetic ride suspension, and the fact that the steel is dual layer, providing a sturdier and more durable body . . . Really, they are nice cars.
We just got a lacrosse cxs the other day. V8, heat/cool leather, power everything. . only option it doesn't have is a sunroof. They go retail brand new for around 41k. Since it was used as a company car and has 5k miles on it, we are asking 27k for it. Already had several calls about it.
I won't say yes or no, seeing as how I sell them. However, I think you should know that they are quite nice.

How old are you?
Don't sound so suprised Chris, the buicks from the old days were for older people. However, a cxs will hold it's own compared to alot of higher priced cars.
Thanks for the input guys. I ended up getting the Buick yesterday, and so far I have no complaints. I thought I would notice a huge difference in gas mileage going to the 3.8, but its not bad at all.
How much did it end up costing you if you don't mind my asking? Also what kind of milage. The reason I ask is we have a used lacrosse, and a used lucerne on our lot, and I am trying to see if we are higher, or lower.
Before taxes it was $7,995 with 68,000 miles.
Do you realize Buicks are some of the most reliable cars on the road, better than most Japanese cars?
I love the look of the Lacrosse. VERY nice. The Lucerne is also nice but more pricey.
Buick has moved on past the old stereotype that they make cars for the elderly. They have some of the best cars on the road now.
I say go for it. They have a nice ride, some power (more than a ZX2) and have plenty of features that will spoil you. The Lacrosse is a great looking car too.
They look best in black.

They do not make all of the cars in the same plant, and the Buick would use different parts in a lot of cases. Maybe not so much "different", but upgraded and better quality.
