    Yeah, the 4.6 I think went to 4 valve heads and some increased compression. Doesn't take much to gain 40 chp ona v8.

    4.6 is 2 valve in 96-04 Mustangs with the exception of the Mach 1 & Maurauder sharing the all aluminum 4 valve DOHC. 95-98 non pi headed Mustangs are slow as piss. PI Heads added a good bit of power and allowed for more gains also once you started bolting on parts.

    The 5.0L motor was superior except from an emmisions stand point.

    also, don't forget that from 2005-2010, the 4.6L was a 3-valve. currently, the 5.0L coyote engine is a 4-valve.
