and don't reconnect the wire halves together unless you put shrink tube over the joint. i could hit metal and short the amp out and damage it.

And NO , electrical tape is as good as using the shrink tube.

Actually, soon I'm gonna take my car to the pro's and replace the wiring with expensive kind, because the wire I am currently using is Stinger brand, very crappy. Think I am going to use RF instead, I was low on money at the time so, please, forgive me.

    Oh gawd, they are everywhere....

Brand of wire means nothing. Its the type of material used and the strand count. Stinger is a reputable brand that I use often. 99.9% sure that they use the same material and strand count as Rockford Fosgate. Now if you want to invest in a higher quality RCA cable, that is a difffernt story. But your power, ground, and remote turn-on wire are the same quality between these two brands.

    But hey, its your money....

Driving a fast Honda is like coming out of the closet. Surprised at first but in the end you're still gay.

any wire that you use is ok. even serious recommended not spending extra dough on "monster" type wires. it's all about installation and time you put in it. if you're willing to learn a few basic things, you're half way there. i'd suggest you re-do the whole thing yourself. don't invite your cousin anywhere close though.

An amp turn on wire sends a signal to the amp to tell it to turn on. It doesn't supply the power or send any audio through it. It's just a wire. It sends either a 0 or a 1, off or on. It doesn't take a $20 wire to do that. All it takes is a basic wire and some know how to actually get the wire installed correctly so that it doesn't break from you getting in and out of the car.

You really should post pictures of your current setup BTW, I'm genuinely interested in seeing how on earth your wire can break that way...
