That color would look great. The red on it now just doesn't do it for me.

I think I'll try the cheap ebay K8 ecu. If it runs better I'll keep that till MS.

Just some info, I see you have an HEI module on the car. I happen to run an HEI distributor in my camaro. They make better modules that give more power at a reasonable price. Guys with HEI distributors keeping them, usually upgrade the module, cap and rotor for added performance.

    for example > http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-5596/

just search HEI Module on jegs or summit and you'll have tons of options. Some even have rev limiter features.

I didn't take it out to look at it, I'm going off your build pictures. It looks like a KL01 ecu (Mazda 626 ATX?). I'm going to shoot for a K8** ecu.

I still have that KL01 ecu. You should have the chipped k8 in there. What does the sticker on the vaf read?

The issue with the ecus, that should be solved by megasquirt, its the random hesitation. The original one, KL01, would do it for the first few mins of driving after the car was up to temp. Capcrew and snowboarding know after following me up a hill after stopping for gas on the way to a PA meet when I couldnt take it out of 2nd. Then by the top of the hill it came to life. The other one, K8, would do it after driving for a while on the highway if you dont change the amount of throttle you give it. On a long drive, I would just totally let off the gas and get back on about every 5-10 mins and it never screwed up.

The VAF is je50, what is that k8 ecu chipped to do? Read je50? I guess I'll leave it alone until MS.

Thats all the mx3 stuff. The chip should adjust the vris points and some other stuff to run the ze properly. I cant find the site for the probinator chips now, but the info is on there. Megasquirt is really the way youll want to go to sort it out though.

probinator. yeah, i actually know ryan personally. i don't think he has an actual website, but he deals through another probe site, although i don't see him post there very often.

megasquirt will be able to handle what you're trying to do. since we already know you have the hybrid, you can use either the stock DE VAF or try using the millenia's MAF, and i still think you should consider the millenia ECU.

I'm just going to use some sort of MAF unit with Megasquirt. For now it is driveable, so I'll leave it alone. I adjusted the idle screw as low as it goes, so now it idles about 1,400rpm instead of 2,250rpm.
