My 2002 ZX2 had a upshift symbol but it never lit up.

I sent Jimmy a CD with all the factory spec books for all the years , magazine articles for the S/R , SVT, Fusion and anything ZX2 . Also all the paper work from Ford on the ZX2 starting in ' 96-'97 . I have all the color chip sheets for all the years . That is what was posted on the old site , I still have everything , probably need to get it all back up .

A neighbor has a 2003 in grey, and I see a few red or copper 03's sometimes on way to work.

In looking at a year 2000 vs. a 2001 ZX2 brochure, there is not much different. Mineral Grey was dropped and Citrus Gold was replaced by Sunray Gold. Also, the power group is standard.

Then for 2002 and 03, there are three trims, standard, deluxe, and premium.

    Default ZX2 Mechanical specs

I'm doing a motor swap in my ZX2. I ended up with a motor from a auto car and will be putting it in a manual.

So is there anyone out there that can tell me if there is any difference between the two motors? Like do I need to swap the cams or intake or injectors, or......????.

    Thanks in advance,
    John Mullins

    Thumbs up Grats

    Guys,
Thanks for the info. Indeed the flywheel sensor is different. The manual type protrudes further into the bellhousing, the auto version is virtually flush. I guess the flywheel sensor is the crank position sensor?? I can't find any other sensor, if that's incorrect I may need some more help.

Of all the things I was thinking about, a flywheel/crank position sensor wasn't even on the list. AND it would have been a royal bi**h after it was in the car. Apparently it changes from inside the clutch housing. I would have been a sick puppy.

Thanks again for the info, well done,

    Oldnotdead

yeah that's correct... it determines the crank position with the flywheel...

and yes in fact it's just a housing..

"yes in fact it's just a housing"

Yeah, right again. Once I actually got in there to do the switch I saw that the sensor itself is identical, it's just in a different mount. Good save guys, thanks again.

This just proves these message boards are the ticket for getting info.
