MWAHAHAHAH!!!!!! ITS ALIVE!!!! ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!
it does have a noise that i need to figure out once i get the exhaust hooked back up tho
the sound gets louder if its in gear under load. it sounds like metal on metal. kind of like a lathe milling a uneven surface. i will get under it soon and yank on the crank to check for walk. other than that its probalby the cracked/broken flexplate thing.
one thing for sure is it does not have a knock that it would get with bad bearings

im thinking at this point i can try to just put in a new thrust bearing. can this be done with the engine in the car just by rolling it out and rolling a new one in?
also i cant seem to find just the thrust bearing for sale anywhere online....
ok so after looking and even calling ford the thrust bearing alone is not sold i have to buy the whole set. sigh
what i need to know is (i searched) can i roll the upper bearings out without haveing to pull the crank?
installed alpine speakers in the doors today
so i bought a new bearing set for it a few days ago.
i did get all the new bearings installed and the caps finger tight. i ran out of light and will have to wait a day or 2 till i can get a new tray gasket and get it fired up
fairly easy to pull the windage tray in general? ive yet to do it but both of my crank seals are weeping as well as the windage trayi just been putting the job of repairing it to the side and keep my eye on the oil level... which barely even drops enough for me to worry about till the time comes around to change the oil. ive had transmissions & heads off before so i cant imagine it being much worse.. except the fact of working below the engine.

its not bad aside from having to remove the ac compressor.
i did have to cut the bolts off the exhaust on mine tho :/. oh well. i have stuff to replace them with.
damn that thing has a lot of play in it. Keep us updated
the ac compressor on the engine i pulled from my old car seemed like a pain in the ass anyhow... and i had the whole motor on the cherry picker
i have a complete extra car and a car with engine and trans I could swap into it![]()
