on my turbo z i keep getting check engine codes. they are p1380 p1381 p1383. i have esslinger cam gears and a vct delete. i redid the timing and i know for sure p1383 is back idk about the others. i have timed these a few times and never had issues except on this engine. cams were set with a flat bar, #1 piston was at tdc, new timing kit, and cam gears were loose while putting the belt on. all the sensors were off the stock engine that ran great on the old turbo build. car runs great off boost and pulls hard with 20 psi of boost. i told fernando to tune for vct delete as well.
P1380 VCT Solenoid Malfunction
P1381 VCT Over-Advanced
P1383 VCT Over-Retarded
few side things:
head was milled ~10.6:1
i have a thick copper head gasket to make up for the milling
idk if the block was decked
have je low compression pistons

It is because you have the VCT delete. At certain points, the computer commands the position of the VCT and if it is retarded or advanced ahead of or behind the expected commanded location, you'll get a code. This is why you have both codes in there.

so how do i get it tuned out, he has to change values or what? i assume the p1380 is because there is no vct gear?? i need this to pass inspection with in a few days so should i put the stock gear back on?
He has to turn off the VCT and cam pos sensor.
