Default Got to drive a Focus ST

So I borrowed a friends miata today for a local event because I don't have a car capable right now to have fun with. Anyways I was fortunate enough that one of the other people running today one I have met years back was running a new Focus ST I had asked him early on in the day if I could run his car for a fun run and he said ok. So sure enough at the end of the day I got to toss it around the course and I have to say I am very impressed it handles very well for a FWD car rotates nice and has plenty of power even with the awful street tires he had on it I still managed a very fast lap time. It pulls hard when the tires were gripping and not spinning the turbo had almost no lag it comes on fast, you can abuse the brake pedal it loves it. The car just feels like it wants to be driven hard makes me wish I had $24,000.

I was able to keep up for the most part with one a few days ago on the straight entrance ramp to the highway in my zxpoo. The lady driving it had difficulty handling the boost though.

yea, I think the focus ST interior is too cramped tho. for the size of car that it is, I feel like it should have more room in the interior, but it doesn't...

They're pretty quick though, They can almost keep up with me.

Yea I didn't pay to much attention to the interior I just hopped in and hammered it. I will say that boost does come on pretty hard in that thing it wouldn't surprise me that that lady had a hard time driving it.

haha yea, I really like how it was designed to slightly oversteer. sliding the rear end a little on the turns was a treat!

The faster it oversteers the faster you can get back on the gas.

i actually got to drive a funky FWD car that i kind of liked (embarrassed about it, though) yesterday in fun runs. a Neon SRT-4. i pulled in a better time with his stock car than my street prepared car. although, to be fair, my car is set up for R comps, and i've been on hard street tires for two events.

I've driven the Fiesta ST a couple times. Never drove the Focus ST. I've heard some people that have driven both and liked the Fiesta better, and others who prefer the Focus for the little bit more HP and larger vehicle. I liked the Fiesta so much I don't even care to drive the Focus. I couldn't get the Fiesta to let go of traction and it was plenty quick enough for me.

Yea I wouldn't mind trying the fiesta st. The lower weight probably makes it a bit easier to handle tossing around a big hatchback requires a bit more elbow movement.

that really shows you just how sorry our choice of modern cars are....when a nutsack shaped car with no power that's as tall as it is wide is considered a sporty car.
