My sister met this guy 3 1/2 years ago. He is the only bf she has ever had that I approved of and liked. In fact, we have become quite close. He's a cool dude and we have a lot of the same interests (though he is obsessed with VW's instead of cool cars, lol). Him and my sister were planning on getting married this fall. Anyway, he had a heart transplant years ago and has had minor problems and set-backs since then. This morning my mother and I got a call from my sister saying how he is in the hospital and probably will not make it. He had a heart attack followed by a stroke within 10 hours. There is apparently some infection in his transplanted heart. The doctors don't want to do surgery right now as they think he is too weak and will die from it. The doctors told my sister and his family that he probably will not make it through the weekend. My mother and I are flying out to Denver tomorrow to be there for him and my sis. I'm just so bummed cause me and him were starting to get close and i thought he was a great guy for my sis to marry. Please keep him in your thoughts and/or prayers.

Well, got here 2day in Denver. Went and saw him and he is hanging in there. The docs still arent sure about whether or not he will make it, but he was at least awake and not in a coma or something so thats cool? lol Anyway, he could kinda understand what people were saying, but could not make out any words. Just a lot of slurred speech. What he would do is stare at me and just nod so i would nod back, and then he would in turn nod harder and get a hint of a smile. lol, that was the highlight of my day. The docs in the ICU said they really wanted to do a MRI but they cant because he has a pacemaker. I am hoping to get out of here earlier than I was planning since he wasnt as bad as he was yesterday. Hopefully he will keep progressing, get rid of that infection in his heart, and make a full recovery!
Damn...well atleast he is on the right track to recovery, hopefully he can pull through this.
I'm sorry to hear about any of this. Thanks for keeping us updated, and please continue.

Update:
yesterday brad was able to talk more and kid around a little bit actually. The bad news is that the infection has effected a 2nd valve in his heart. even thought he seemed ok yesterday, his vitals were pretty shitty. the doctors still wont operate. its just a painful waiting game for right now. I did tell my sis that there is a huge community (YOU GUYS! lol) behind her and thinking/praying for him. she said it really meant a lot to her, so thanks everyone.
