Thanks but Im pretty sure the auto would require different rpms.

Ill play around a bit and find out what works best. Our track is opening in about a month.

    1-2 7200rpm. 2-3 7000rpm. You likely won't need but 3-4 6800. Depending on tires launch should be 2000-3000rpm

Bah. If you're taking it to the track, then you're already willing to accept vehicle failure. 7200rpm at 250k won't be the root cause of your engine failure if it does let go

My local track (oldest in the nation) lets anything run a 1/4 mile. A well maintained factory manual trans ZX2 should run high 15s.

Going to have at it again this Thursday. I may try airing up the tires some to reduce the hook. Track prep is on kill for the pro mods thus killing us 120hp cars If I can get it to spin alittle I think I can cut that ET down alittle. Now Im determined to get a mid15 before breaking it

I'm far from stock, but here's my shift points

    1-2 8000
    2-3 7850
    3-4 7400

I don't need to shift to 5th yet, but it's getting in the mid 6k range before letting out of it.
Found the limits of factory internals. Pictures here.

2000 ZX2 - Built engine (Eagle Rods, JE Pistons, block bored to 85.5mm, 2mm oversize valves, Forged oil pump gears), Garrett GTX2863R turbo, 80 lb/hr injectors, flex fuel, Megasquirt 3 EMS, Celica ST185 radiator, 3" exhaust. Other mods too, check out my build thread for a full listing.
