    How much power can one expect to pick up with a Johnp intake vs Ford racing and where could I get my hands on either

    JohnP won't crack , the backfire valve in the bottom will blow out or boost will blow by the 'O'rings .

    Lets not forget a JohnP weighs less than the factory manifold. The Ford Racing one weighs a good bit more.

    Another option is the SVT Focus inlet manifold
    Found the limits of factory internals. Pictures here.

    2000 ZX2 - Built engine (Eagle Rods, JE Pistons, block bored to 85.5mm, 2mm oversize valves, Forged oil pump gears), Garrett GTX2863R turbo, 80 lb/hr injectors, flex fuel, Megasquirt 3 EMS, Celica ST185 radiator, 3" exhaust. Other mods too, check out my build thread for a full listing.

    JohnP is like 87 years old and hasn't modified IMs for half a decade, at least lol.

    I was only saying it would crack because it was made of plastic. How much boost can a ported plastic intake manifold handle?

    Oh yeah, the random floor pan bolts will fall off before the intake manifold blows, we are ok.

    After I had a few spinal surgeries an a spinal implant all I do now is walk my fingers around the key board . I run a ebay store for a train shop , Metro Trains and hobbies . Sold the bench and most of the valve stuff . I just turned 75 ,still run the Z since April '97 , see which one lasts the longest ? I still check in now and then just to see who's here , gettin a little slim .

    I got my l4-l5 fused with some plastic, a little better off but not by much. hope yours went better.
