Default Help with Koni Race Strut Build

Picked up the strut housings today from the machine shop. Liberty Precision Machine did a fantastic job. Next step is to cut the aluminum insert spacers to length for the rear struts, then mock up the fitment to dial in the final position of the new weld-on spring perches.

Default Help with Koni Race Strut Build

The rear struts need to be longer than even the longer Koni inserts, so it was necessary to make a spacer to fill the gap inside the housing.
To keep weight down, I picked up a piece of 6061 aluminum tubing with 1-3/4-in OD and 1/8-in wall thickness.
    Tubing can be found here:

I used some calipers to measure necessary length of the spacers, then cut them long and ground them to the ideal height, maximizing thread engagement but not allowing the gland but to shoulder out on the strut housing.

The foil tape that is on the bottom of the insert is holding a piece of thin sheet metal that is being used to centralize the bottom of the insert inside the housing.
