Thanks guys! Yeah the transmission has actually been occasionally slipping out of gear (it's an atx) for the last 50k miles but has never given up on me

At 198000 miles I replaced the timing belt and a bunch of other stuff like idler pulleys and water pump. I forgot to put the oil filter back on and when I started it and it made bad noises for about 5 seconds before I shut it off. I filled the crankcase with 5 quarts of Mobile One 15,000 mile oil. I've used this oil before and noticed that the car would go 5500 to 7500 miles before needing half a quart of oil. This time I took the car on a road trip as I had been wanting to do all summer. I dove from Minnesota and all over the Southwest. The car performed well in mountains, desert, 80 mph speed limits and the toughest test; the Santa Ana Fwy at 5PM. Now the mileage is just short of 208000 miles and the oil level has dropped only a tiny bit. It has a manual transmission and probably the original clutch.

Nice! Yeah it’s a tough little car, I’m really impressed with how cheap it is to maintain. I actually work for a BMW dealership and from what I’ve seen the ZX2 is more reliable than any of the BMWs that I work on. Less annoying electronics to worry about haha
