The retard working at the yard was wrong. Bought it off their site for $68 with shipping. If I am unsuccessful in my efforts with this I'll just give up and do the dealer cruise. For now, it looks like I have most of what I need for the steering wheel project already.

I didn't even think that the dealer-installed cruise control might still be available. I ended up going with an aftermarket (Rostra) unit. Not hard to install. Still have some finishing touches to do, but I gave it a quick test and it works pretty well.

dareall has one which he took out of one of his cars. it uses factory cruise parts under the hood but uses a control stalk instead of steering wheel controls

Sadness. I could have used that. Oh well. I have what I have installed already and it works quite well. Thinking of doing a how-to on it.
